Hungry for a taste of Canada? Give Putina a try. Located just after the El Rey plaza, Putina was a typical “fonda,” or traditional-style restaurant for many years. This year new owner Jocelyn Blackburn from Quebec decided to bring a few Canadian comfort dishes to Panama.

Among the regular fare, Putina is offering Hot Chicken sandwiches, smothered in gravy. Another Canadian favorite is Poutine – French fries, gravy and cheese.

Focusing on mostly breakfast and lunch, Putina is one of the more inexpensive places at the beach offering good food. There are about 21 different choices for a hearty breakfast under $5. Lunch and dinner options are all under $10. The restaurant is open 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. It is closed Friday and Saturday.
